If the 7-day answer period has passed and our system has not detected a tenant answer, Connect2Court will send a notification prompting you to file.
It's your choice: Sign and eFile the Writ yourself, or request that your attorney file on your behalf.

When you file a writ, you select your set-out vendor at that time using Connect2Court's Vendor Visibility tool. That company will be notified of the writ, and they can update scheduling information in the Connect2Court dashboard so all parties are on the same page.
Insider Tip:
Filing companies often delay this step by more than a week, when the writ should be filed within 48 hours after the answer period has expired. Connect2Court lets you take control and move the process forward as soon as possible.
5
Schedule Set-Outs
When a Writ is filed with Conenct2Court, your set-out vendor is notified immediately and will update scheduling information in the Connect2Court dashboard.

Based on your preferences, you can opt to use an off-duty officer for expedited set-outs (with an extra fee, paid to the officers), or go the traditional route of using an on-duty officer and only pay labor costs.

Communicate directly with your set-out vendor or use Connect2Court's chat feature to convey important information to them.
Insider Tip:
House bill 1203 shook up the eviction industry when it passed in April 2024, allowing off-duty officers to perform set-outs. As a result, set-outs can be scheduled much quicker and some counties have even cleared out their backlogs, so you no longer need to work with (and pay extra for) an off-duty officer. Connect2Court helps you navigate this terrain and will help you choose the set-out option that is right for your property.
